Care of your Curvus products
All our pieces are made to the highest standards, using the latest techniques, tools and wood treatments. This ensures your Curvus product is beautifully finished and can take pride of place in your home. As wood is a natural product, with each piece being as individual as the next, it does require a certain level of care to ensure it will continue to be beautiful for years to come.
The following tips will help you get the most out of your Curvus product and keep it looking as good as the day you bought it.
- Keep it clean. Often the most basic advice and one which is very often overlooked. By keeping your wood surface clean it will always look good and stay free from dirt or debris that would be harmful to the surface after a prolonged exposure.
- Treat it well. Your product will arrive treated with the oil or stain of your choice and over time and use this will naturally wear away. We recommend reapplying necessary oils or treatments periodically to keep the integrity of wood intact.
- Prepare it for your home. All our products are created and stored in our workshop prior to delivery or collection. As with any large manufacturing premise, this can be very cold at certain times of year. Placing an item immediately in a hot or warm environment may risk ‘cracking’ of the wood. This is due to the naturally occurring moisture in the wood reacting to extreme heat changes. All items should be acclimatised to your home gradually to avoid such cracking and movement.
In the event that you do experience cracks or significant changes to the product, please do not hesitate to contact us for further guidance – we’ll be happy to help! - Please remember that all our products are all natural wood and that they are subject to slight changes over time as it settles and adapts to its conditions.
- We recommend the use of felt pads on the legs or undersides of your products, especially when placed on hard surfaces. This will protect both the surface and the product from wear and marking
